And this overconfidence brings more active traders to the market. It might just be this self-fulfilling prophecy that creates another market boom.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And the trend has been increasing over time. Once you catch the trading bug, it\u2019s hard to quit. So what exactly will it take to bring everyone back to their screens?<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What Do You Do During a Lull?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let\u2019s check in with our hosts to see how they\u2019re handling this slowdown\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stephen says he feels disappointed with the one-and-done nature of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.steadytrade.com\/episode-188-retail-traders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WallStreetBets<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and GameStop Corp. (NYSE: GME). It seems it was a once-in-a-decade event, and he had hopes it would happen again.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So he wonders if after all the media buzz the hedge funds won after all. Are we back to the status quo?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As for Bohen, he remembers when the market shifted around 2015. He was happy shorting one-day runners until <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.steadytrade.com\/ep-142-volume-analysis-with-del-the-trader\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">volume<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> suddenly exploded.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cGuys left their Goldman Sachs desks to push around low-float stocks.\u201d When you\u2019re focused on small-cap stocks, $10 million in a trading account is more than enough.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But the market always changes, and you have to be ready for it. Bohen took advantage of the slow market to escape the grind and vacation with his family. He reports they loved every minute of it! His wife is a social butterfly. They loved chatting up strangers and seeing people smile in the Florida sun.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kim\u2019s looking forward to a vacation of her own in September. And she got vaccinated on a lark when she got a tip about extras at a pharmacy. She\u2019s also celebrating the success of her own <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/kimanncurtin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instagram Live sessions<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kim\u2019s touched to see the traders in her community finding buddies and supporting each other. Whether we\u2019re in a market boom or a market lull, it\u2019s great to find friends who trade.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No Market Boom? Protect Your Gains<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s not easy for everyone to take a break and enjoy the downtime. Stephen finds himself \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.steadytrade.com\/trading-with-egos-and-gremlins-wallstreet-coach-kim-ann-curtin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">d-gen trading<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d (d-gen is code for degenerate).
