Earlier this year, we experienced the \u2018<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.steadytrade.com\/ep-164-the-wildest-100-days-in-stock-market-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">wildest 100 days in stock market history<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u2019 More new traders have entered the market than ever before \u2014 and many of them are women.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In today\u2019s episode of the SteadyTrade podcast, co-host Kim Ann Curtin is leading a round-table discussion with four up-and-coming women traders.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These women may come from very different walks of life, but they are united by a common passion for day trading. She\u2019s a relatively new trader who\u2019s learning the ropes while raising a two-year-old son.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the time of our last interview, she\u2019d just started a live account. But in November 2019 she was able to quit her job and study more \u2014 and now she\u2019s hooked.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She\u2019s had \u2018good days and bad days\u2019 since opening a live account in February 2020, but she\u2019s continuing to improve every day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Emily<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the age of 16 or so, Emily joined her parents in attending a class with businessman Dave Ramsey. It opened her eyes to \u201call the things you don\u2019t learn in school\u201d like compound interest and developing wealth.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She knew financial literacy could help her attain financial and geographical freedom. She started studying with Tim Sykes in May of 2020. Right now, she\u2019s still very much in the learning phase. Her biggest struggle right now? Bag holding: \u201conce I marry a stock, I\u2019m committed.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women in Day Trading: What\u2019s Holding You Back?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The male-dominated world of the market can be intimidating for women in day trading. But today\u2019s guests have broken that barrier. Kim wants to know: what\u2019s their advice to other women who might want to step into this world?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plant Seeds and See What Grows<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since Tessa appeared on the SteadyTrade podcast a few months ago, a lot of young mothers interested in day trading have reached out to her.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They want to know: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">how are you able to trade while raising a toddler?\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s not always easy, admits Tessa. For instance, when her son jumps in her lap during a trade, she sometimes has to exit her position. She knows she won\u2019t be able to concentrate on the trade.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nonetheless, Tessa notes that it\u2019s important to stick with it. You\u2019re planting seeds now that can continue to grow as your kids do.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That means even if you don\u2019t have a lot of time for trading now, developing the skills will serve you as your kids become more independent and you have more time.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Invest in Your Education<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michelle shares, \u201cI\u2019ve always been a big fan of investing in your education.\u201d If you believe in something, you\u2019ve got to invest time and energy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cDoctors aren\u2019t doctors overnight,\u201d she says. Trading can be an intimidating world for some women, but if you take the time to invest in your education, you\u2019ll be able to develop the confidence and skills to make great things happen.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make It Happen<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For a lot of women, trading is like uncharted territory. As Emily shares, at times like these, you\u2019ve got to \u201ccarve your own path.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She acknowledges that women may approach money differently from men, but that\u2019s OK. In fact, it might even be a good thing in the long run.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She shares that by continuing to increase your trading know-how, you\u2019re developing skills that will never \u201cgo away.\u201d It\u2019s like a solid foundation for continued growth.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Just Do It\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brandy\u2019s a fan of getting down to business.
