She graduated from college with her associate\u2019s degree early. She worked in the corporate sector, and she was an international runway modeling \u2026 Did we mention she\u2019s still just 24?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Her journey to day-trading actually started with the end of a relationship. That\u2019s when she moved back in with her parents with her baby. Runway modeling was no longer an option, so she started looking for other avenues of income.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She dabbled in a few different fields before deciding to get her bachelor\u2019s in information security \u2026 but she didn\u2019t like it. So she got into forex and crypto, with mixed results.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then, she came across an ad for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.steadytrade.com\/trading-syke-ology-with-tim-sykes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tim Sykes\u2019<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Trading Challenge.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Discovering Penny Stocks\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tessa really resonated with Tim Sykes \u2014 she found his no-BS approach refreshing. So she started watching his vast collection of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCoSG43KFjTe0trsteSQ46Ng\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">YouTube videos<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Funds were low, but she started with some of Sykes\u2019 programs. Though she wasn\u2019t yet able to join the Challenge, Tim still took notice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After giving birth, Tessa learned that she had cervical cancer. So she decided to put her recovery time to work by studying. She figured, \u201chopefully this can get taken care of because I need to be a millionaire.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/timothysykes\/status\/1161924130754768897\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">photo of her<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> studying in treatment went viral in the trading community, and it cemented Tessa\u2019s resolve to find success in trading.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paper Trading to IRL Trading\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tessa explains the progression of her trading career. That includes how she subscribed to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/stockstotrade.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">StocksToTrade<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and began to learn the ropes through paper trading.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paper trading can be a hot topic among traders \u2014 is it a good thing, or is it a crutch? Tessa found it was a great way for her to get her bearings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She took it seriously. She\u2019d wake up at 3:50 a.m. Pacific to study the market\u2026\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All said, Tessa paper traded for six months. And in that time she built a $2K virtual account into $5K.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once the volatility from the coronavirus pandemic kicked in, she felt it was time to go live with her trading \u2026 New traders won\u2019t want to miss her honest discussion of the growing pains that came with making that shift.
