Tim and Stephen interviewed her in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.steadytrade.com\/trading-with-egos-and-gremlins-wallstreet-coach-kim-ann-curtin\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Episode 100<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> about digging beneath the surface to uncover what\u2019s behind trading psychology.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following the success of that episode, she\u2019s now conducting a one-on-one session with Stephen to dive deep into his recent trading woes. Will our lovable Stephen have a transformative experience?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stephen\u2019s Journey to Trading\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">About five years ago, Stephen went through a quarter-life crisis of sorts. He was experiencing massive anxiety and a sense of ennui &#8230; He felt like he didn\u2019t know who he knew who he was or where he was going in life. He felt like he\u2019d lost his identity. In his words, it was \u201cterrifying.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He took proactive steps to focus on his goals and pursue therapy &#8230; but something really seemed to bring him out of his rut: trading.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s around the time Stephen also discovered the Tim Sykes Trading Challenge. Never one to shy away from a challenge, he decided to give it a try \u2014 and document his journey on YouTube.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stephen figured if Sykes was a scammer, he\u2019d reveal the truth. And if the program was legit, maybe he could learn to trade and earn some money. Either way, broadcasting the experience online could help others.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Emotional Roller Coaster of Trading\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When Stephen started trading, he initially lost money, but reports turning things around and starting to turn a profit. He documented everything on YouTube and began to form a community. It gave him a sense of purpose, and he felt a vitality he hadn\u2019t felt in a while.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He felt as if he\u2019d found his identity again.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But then, something changed. About a year ago, he began taking losses &#8230; and couldn\u2019t seem to turn things around.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So what happened?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stephen notes that as his trading progressed, the wins didn\u2019t seem to affect him as much &#8230; but the losses became harder and harder to absorb. He began to feel depressed: \u201cAll I\u2019m doing is sitting in a room alone, watching money go up and down.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The truth? Stephen\u2019s starting to feel bored, and his needs still aren\u2019t being met. So what does that mean for him as a trader?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stephen\u2019s Work<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the episode, Kim asks Stephen some hard questions. First and foremost: If making money isn\u2019t making him happier, why does Stephen continue to sit in that lonely room and trade?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As Stephen puts it, he doesn\u2019t like to quit on promises or commitments. He doesn\u2019t want to throw away the podcast and his YouTube channel just because he\u2019s not as enthusiastic as he was.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But will that passion ever come back?
